 This privacy policy governs the use of the PinLock app, developed and maintained by Reliance.engineer e.K.. By using the app, you agree to the terms outlined below. 
 

1. Data Security

PinLock is designed to provide a secure environment for storing sensitive information, such as passwords, PINs, links, and notes. The data you store in the app is encrypted and stored locally on your device.

2. No Internet Connection

PinLock operates entirely offline. The app does not connect to the internet or share any of your data with external servers, ensuring that your information remains private and under your control.

3. Data Encryption

All data stored within PinLock is encrypted using advanced encryption algorithms. This ensures that your data is secure as long as it remains on your device. However, Reliance.engineer e.K. is not responsible for the security of your data if you:

  • Export backups to external locations.
  • Store backups in insecure locations.
  • Send backups over unsecured channels.

Once the data is exported or shared outside the app, the responsibility for its protection lies solely with you. If a third party accesses your backups and manages to decrypt them, Reliance.engineer e.K. cannot be held liable for any resulting data loss or misuse.

4. Incorrect Password Attempts

PinLock includes a security feature that deletes stored data after five consecutive incorrect password or PIN entry attempts. This is to protect against unauthorized access. Reliance.engineer e.K. will not be responsible for any data loss that occurs if:

  • You forget your password or PIN.
  • Someone else inputs the wrong password or PIN five times and the data is erased.

It is your responsibility to remember your password or PIN and to ensure that it is entered correctly.

5. Backup and Restore

While PinLock provides the option to create encrypted backups, the app does not manage or monitor where you store these backups. If you store them in insecure locations (e.g., unencrypted cloud services or shared devices), there is a risk that third parties could access your data. Reliance.engineer e.K. is not responsible for any data breaches or losses that occur as a result of insecure storage practices.

This privacy policy may be updated periodically. We will notify you of any significant changes by updating the date at the bottom of this policy.
